Happy potters!

We've been up and running for nearly three months now, and are approaching the end of our second blocks. Our classes are booked through until the end of the year; mixed groups of experienced potters, pleased to find a place to practice, and brand new potters who are discovering the joy of working with clay for the very first time.

Our new kiln is working hard for us, and we are delighted with the results using our new clay, and the glazes we have chosen. Pottery making can be fraught with technical problems to solve, and trying new materials with new equipment is risky to say the least. However, the successes have by far outweighed the very few minor fails. Our gallery page shows a growing virtual exhibition of pots and sculptures made in the studio.

In addition to our regular classes, we are also now able to book in pottery painting parties. A fun way to celebrate as a family or group of friends. We provide the bisque fired pottery and ceramic paints, and can even give you some painting ideas, along with tea and coffee making facilities. You bring your party and any additional refreshments you want. Have fun designing your unique pieces of pottery; we'll glaze and fire them for you to collect a couple of weeks later. Contact us or pop in to the studio for more details and to book your party.

But you don't need to have a big birthday, or any other excuse to come and paint pottery! We are planning some fun summer drop-in painting evenings. You can come with a friend, or on your own. Dates to be announced in due course; contact us if you are interested; we hope to see you soon.

We are really happy with the way The Pottery Hut is going; and to be honest, it's mostly because we are surrounded by dozens of happy potters.
